Standing at the boarding gate of Chicago's O'hare Airport and REALLY saying goodbye; goodbye to the ugly side of America- to the waste, to the closed-minded and mean behaviors of bully leaders and egotistical, greedy money-mongers. I know such as this exists everywhere, but it is most clearly evident and runs rampant in a capitalistic society where 1% of the population owns 80% of the wealth and corporations own the legislators, judicial system, and media. Corporations now dictate the average person's lifestyle.
This is the stuff that I gladly say goodbye to.
My heart is heavy with knowing the main reason I am boarding a plane for the Netherlands, is because the ugly side of America has made it intolerant of "difference".
